Really big things are happening at MoMA this season—here’s what’s going on this week:

• Picasso Sculpture—our epic survey of Picasso’s work in three dimensions opens to the public today. See the exhibition critics are calling a “once-in-a-lifetime event.”

• Join a free Gallery Sessions tour—Partners in Dissent: Artists from Eastern Europe and Latin America, 1960–1980—on Tuesday of the new exhibition Transmissions: Art in Eastern Europe and Latin America, 1960–1980 and explore how Latin American and Eastern European artists connected during the Cold War to create countercultural movements.

• A weeklong run of Britni West’s directorial debut, Tired Moonlight, which won the Jury Award for Narrative Feature at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival, opens on Thursday, and is followed by a Q&A with the director.

• Book lovers and art aficionados alike won’t want to miss Printed Matter’s 10th Annual NY Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1, which runs from Friday to Sunday, with an opening night preview on Thursday. Free and open to the public, the NY Art Book Fair is the world’s premier event for artists’ books, catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines.
