• Today, October 20, we present a Modern Mondays evening with Bill Morrison, focusing on his use of archival and found footage. This event is held in conjunction with the artist’s current film retrospective, Bill Morrison: Compositions, and gallery installation, Bill Morrison: Re-Compositions. Visit MoMA.org for even more Bill Morrison events this week.

• Take The Mondrian Challenge—join a free Gallery Sessions tour on Tuesday, October 21, where you can take the same elements that Mondrian used to make his paintings and try your hand at organizing them in your own compositions.

• On Thursday, October 23, our latest interactive studio, MoMA Studio: Beyond the Cut Out, opens. This creative and social space lets visitors experiment with Matisse’s playful cut-paper techniques through artist-led workshops, talks, art-making activities, and a variety of drop-in programs.

• Also on Friday, October 24, the Department of Film kicks off its annual film preservation festival, To Save and Project, with the North American premiere of a new MoMA restoration: Allan Dwan’s 1929 masterpiece The Iron Mask, including the entire original Vitaphone soundtrack, which will be heard here for the first time since the film’s original roadshow presentation.
