MoMA

I Went to MoMA and…Felt the Love

Maybe this is obvious, but it was news to me: MoMA is a ridiculously romantic place. Museum visitors are falling in love, getting engaged, checking each other out, celebrating their anniversaries, and more, all over the place around here. I woke up to this misty-eyed reality just in time for Valentine’s Day by looking at the wide variety of love-related responses to the newly re-installed I Went to MoMA and… project. See the slideshow below for just a small sampling of all the heart-pounding shenanigans in these hallowed halls. (See even more here and here.) It’s especially fun to notice that there are cards for seemingly every possible phase and style of romance, from giddy to heartbroken, salad days to long-in-the-tooth days, starry-eyed youth to starry-eyed old timers, and on and on.

Enjoy, and if you’re so inclined, check out the sweet competition the MoMA Stores are having to promote the MoMA Store Gift Registry. Who wouldn’t want a collapsible salad spinner, best-selling ladder, or Herman Miller chair to celebrate their nuptials?
