The world's largest and most inclusive collection of modern painting and sculpture comprises some 3,600 works dating from the late nineteenth century to the present. It provides a comprehensive selection of the major artists and movements since the 1890s, from Paul Cézanne's The Bather and Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night to masterworks of today.
Please note that Salvador Dalí's The Persistence of Memory and Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night are not currently on view at The Museum of Modern Art. The Persistence of Memory is on loan to the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí and will return to the Museum in April 2009. The Starry Night is on loan to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, where it will be on display from February 13 to June 7, 2009, as part of the exhibition Van Gogh and the Colors of the Night. The Starry Night will return to MoMA in late June 2009.
