Chii-Anne: My name is Chii-Anne. I am a Teen in Residence, and this is: All The Broken Limbs On The Pathway To Salvation.
I see a bunch of teenagers all just huddling up together. It looks like they're all in each other's personal bubble, I would say. Like they're all sharing the same one.
My definition of community is a feeling of togetherness. It doesn't have to be a big or small group. It could just be like a few people or many people believing in one of the same things. And a group of friends can also be your own little community.
The outfit style drew me in. They have colored hair, they're wearing the same kind of shoes. It's different from how people are normally expected to, wear their outfits, but this is the kind of style that they feel connected with and that's what sparked their interest in becoming friends.
Friendship is having someone who, at the end of the day is just going to be there. Whether you're in a fun, silly mood or if you're feeling calm, serious, or you just need a shoulder to lean on, like how both of them have another person leaning on their shoulder.
In this stage of life, you are feeling like there's no one out there who's going to understand you-- not your parents, not your teachers. The people who you are supposed to look up to, they're not fully understanding. You could feel happy one minute and angry the next, and they'll just call it you being a moody teenager. when you can't manage your own emotions. These teenagers, they're probably feeling like the future has failed them in some way. So they're looking to each other for that guidance because teenagers can understand other teenagers.
