“We are excited to share a few new and old publications at our booth (A60) this year! We’re probably most excited about our 2018 publication Sentiments: Expressions of Cultural Passage, a compilation of conversations, essays, and artist projects that explore immigrant and immigrant-adjacent identity, stories of migration, and notions of sanctuary. This project evolved out of our own conversations as a collective of immigrant womxn and includes collaborations we created with our own families. In complicating the traditional narratives, this collection of voices resists the reductive oversimplification of our racially diverse, multicultural, multilingual, and third-space identities, and offers a more nuanced treatment of the wide-ranging identities and experiences that characterize immigrant existence. Additionally, this series explores how the lived experiences of those who are called immigrants in the United States can inform our understanding of how white supremacy has constructed society—and how we can dismantle it. You can read it online at sentiments.press. We’ll also have copies of our recent collaboration with Wendy’s Subway, a new zine by Studio HH / Hannah Hiaasen, and lots more!

We’ll be tabling by some of my favorite presses and people, including Homie House Press and the Bettys! Homie House Press has put out a lot of work that circles themes of immigration with nuance and complexity. I’m excited to check out their new stuff, including their three-part manifesto series, Self / Ser, by River Coello, and 1st Fronteras. I also love the Bettys’ “Destroy all men who abuse their power.” merch, and pretty much everything at their table is always rad. Some other folks I’m excited to see are Just Seeds Artists Cooperative, True Laurels, Sming Sming Books, Endless Editions, GenderFail, Wendy’s Subway, Coloured Publishing, Interference Archive, Temporary Services, and a lot of others I’m definitely forgetting! See y’all there!!”
