Laura Antrim Caskey is an independent photojournalist. Caskey has spent the last decade reporting on the human and environmental costs of mountaintop removal coal mining in Appalachia. Using her photography as a tool, in 2010, Caskey published Dragline, an award- winning photojournalistic exposé, to educate and activate people on the issue. Caskey distributed thousands of copies of Dragline across the planet in partnership with Climate Ground Zero, a grassroots movement, whose campaign of non-violent civil disobedience she chronicled. Her photographs have been published in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, Smithsonian, Nature and featured in documentary films including The Last Mountain.
