White has used photocopy and photography, particularly self-portraiture, in her printmaking to address the subjects of identity, history, and homeland. This five-part work shows the artist’s face and open mouth, magnified until it borders on the abstract. The print is an unusual variety, made with a process much like lithography but using photocopy instead of a stone or plate.
