Victor Masayesva, Jr.
(Hopi) Victor Masayesva, Jr.'s (Hopi) groundbreaking experimental videos have the goal of "developing a new iconography originating from the mythical and visual song-play of our forefathers." His work has been exhibited internationally at film festivals and cultural institutions, and Masayesva is the recipient of numerous awards, including fellowships from the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations and the National Endowment for the Arts. He was a founder of the Native American Producer's Alliance, in 1994. Masayesva attended Princeton University and the University of Arizona, Tucson. He lives in Hotevilla, Arizona, on the Hopi Reservation.
