For Museum Highlights: A Gallery Talk, a performance held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1989 and recorded on video, Andrea Fraser assumed the role of a museum docent, under the name Jane Castelton. She conducted a tour of the museum galleries, cafeteria, and lobby, making comments that were, in fact, largely drawn from institutional publications. For Fraser, Jane Castelton personifies a non-expert volunteer from an upper-class background who possesses "the leisure and the economic and cultural capital that defines a museum's patron class."
