Cumano is one of Castiglioni's most exemplary redesigns, in which he chooses an object that has already existed for decades, sometimes even centuries, and adapts it to current technologies and conditions. The designer upgraded the classic small outdoor coffee table and made it foldable by means of an ingenious injection-molded joint. He also punched a hole through the top, so that the closed table can be stored more easily, or hung like a decoration.
