Narrator: Welcome to MoMA. This exhibition features work by the artist Walid Raad.
Walid Raad: My name is Walid Raad. I am an artist and a professor of art in New York.
Scratching on Things I Could Disavow is a project about the history of art in the Arab world. So it's a history of on the one hand the emergence of large infrastructure for the arts in Arab cities and on the other an exploration of how culture, art, and tradition are affected by a history of violence in the Middle East and the Arab world.
Narrator: Raad will lead live Walkthroughs of the installation in the Marron Atrium several times per week. A recording of his 50-minute presentation is also available on this audio tour. Look for the audio symbol and numbers that correspond to each of the pieces on view.
