The work that has really left a strong impression on me since I’ve been working here is Bruce Nauman’s Dirty Story. This is part of a series of performance-based videos that he did called Clown Torture. The piece is about an hour long. It was like a nonstop commercial and the actress really had a very mellow kind of chilled-out way of just telling the riddle and then laughing melodically. It was MADDENING!! It drew so much fascination because the artist himself was influenced by Stephen King’s *It*—“ho-ho, he-he!!!”

As much as people tried to ignore it, they couldn’t. I loved it, it was weird, it was strange and very melodic. There were [visitors] who loved it, and those were the ones I loved talking to about it.
