For me, Stenographic Figure points clearly to the future—something we all want to fast-forward to right away. So much of it points to the signature “pour” art that Pollock would soon create. The lines and the seeming chaos are in fact perfectly organized and executed. Stenographic Figure is a way for me to look to the future, when this challenge we all face today is history.
