The Propeller Group’s 2014 The Living Need Light and the Dead Need Music is a video that juxtaposes brass bands and public processions in New Orleans and Vietnam that come together to honor the dead. In this moment, when social distancing makes collective mourning nearly impossible, I am reminded that art is one resource we have for expressing public grief.
