There is something ironic about a massive, bold billboard in the center of a city, calling for more poetry. Poetry will (unfortunately) never take up the space in society that the billboard’s massive presence seems to call for. But still, we should listen to Jeremy Deller because a little poetry, or at least poeticism, can do much to lighten up our world.
