The words printed on the work are also the title of the work: A Fly Caught in a Person’s Thought. There is the prettiness of the seraph printing on the fabric, so neatly hemmed. Then there is the provocative idea. First I was concerned for the fly’s predicament, but then somewhat less so as the fly was not a real fly but the thought of the fly. Flies are uncontrollable and unruly, but thoughts are meant to be governable and organized...except when they aren’t.
