Praesens was published by an editorial collective that included a group of Polish architects, as well as former Blok group members Władysław Strzemiski, Henryk Stažewski, and Katarzyna Kobro. The abstract covers of these issues were designed by Henryk Stažewski. Stažewski’s design and layout of the issues, more austere and functional than that of Blok, is more closely associated with publications like De Stijl, or the Bauhaus books. The Praesens group had a decided focus on new architecture, investigating new modernist possibilities for the built environment.
