Produced by Lina Gopaul and David Lawson, The Unfinished Conversation is an outgrowth of the Black Audio Film Collective, a highly influential group of seven artists and thinkers, founded in 1982, whose experimental works chronicled the experiences of people of color living in Britain. Both Judson Dance Theater and Akomfrah’s group share a dedication to working together as a method and a political commitment.
