Nam June Paik, widely considered the “father of video art,” fled the Korean War in 1950 and ultimately immigrated to the US in 1964. Paik’s Global Groove features performers from around the world and imagines an international landscape of the future dominated by video—a prescient vision of today’s digital environment.
