To make Recto/Verso Heinecken used his signature method of contact printing, placing a magazine page on light-sensitive paper then exposing it to bright light, so the images on both sides of the sheet were simultaneously registered. Playing with mixed motifs of vanity and consumption, Heinecken redefined the role media culture plays in the construction of identity.
