While no edition was published, approximately 15 multiples were made. There are likely to be variations in the latex.

"Parkett" magazine approached Bourgeois with the suggestion of featuring her, with the artist Robert Gober, in one of its issues. This project was to be part of a series in which artists were paired, each being represented by a selection of reproductions and articles, as well as by a multiple work, which would be reproduced in the pages of the magazine and also available in a signed and limited special edition. Bourgeois proposed "The Age of Condom Come," but it was not used. Other possible multiples were also considered by Bourgeois (see "Appointment at 11:00 am" and "Fabrication I" in Related Works in the Catalogue below). Ultimately "Reparation" was issued in conjunction with "Parkett 27" in March 1991.
"This is an outrageous thing. It was the time of the scandals of the television evangelists... of the 'born-again' subject. This is an antiestablishment piece. It was rejected as a multiple for Parkett. I was hurt... I was sad to be refused... but I'm used to it." (Quote cited in Wye, Deborah and Carol Smith. "The Prints of Louise Bourgeois." This multiple was fabricated by the artist's assistant, Jerry Gorovoy, and the Modern Art Foundry in Long Island City, NY.
