There is 1 known unnumbered impression with the full signature "Louise Bourgeois" (versus "LB" as seen here) at the lower right of the composition. It is not known if that impression is among the P.P., T.P, or B.A.T. impressions listed in the edition.
Benefit Work:
For Artists Space, New York.
Background:
Artists Space is a non-profit alternative exhibition venue and center for discussion on contemporary art. It was founded in 1972 as a pilot project for the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), to provide a setting in which visual artists not affiliated with commercial galleries could show their work. Bourgeois was a Board member from 1997 to 2010.
Curatorial Remarks:
Bourgeois's use of music paper as a support for drawings goes back to the early 1940s. Judith Solodkin, of SOLO Impression, used lithography to create archival music paper of a particular size for this edition.
