This composition is also included in the series of unique installation sets, "10 AM Is When You Come to Me" (sets 1-10).

Background:

The title refers to the daily arrival of Bourgeois's assistant, Jerry Gorovoy, at the artist's home. Prior to the etched compositions in the series of installation sets (1-10), Bourgeois created a series of 7 drawings, also titled "10 AM Is When You Come to Me" (see Related Works in Other Mediums).

Curatorial Remarks:

The plate size and paper type could not be documented because this work is not in MoMA's Collection and could not be examined in person.

Sometimes the plate was partially inked for this composition. When fully inked, the clock, numbers, and the phrase "10 AM Is When You Come to Me!!" are all seen. When partially inked, there are impressions without the phrase, with only fragments of the phrase, and in one case, a clock without numbers (see untitled, no. 19 in set 4). This impression is partially inked.
