Background:
Bourgeois befriended artist Joan Miró in 1947 through her participation at Atelier 17, the communal print workshop founded by Stanley William Hayter, and transferred from Paris to New York during the war years.
Curatorial Remarks:
The plate size and paper type could not be documented because this work is not in MoMA's Collection and could not be examined in person.
