- According to Bourgeois's assistant, Jerry Gorovoy, the aluminum collage element was a fragment left over after pouring aluminum into molds for sculptures by the artist. Gorovoy gathered up the fragments and Bourgeois decided to use them in this edition. The sculptural pouring process took place at the Modern Art Foundry in Long Island City, NY.
