Bourgeois incorporated a similar composition in a unique fabric collage seen below in Related Works in Other Mediums.
Installation Remarks:
This composition is one of 12 that constitute a single work of art. All of these compositions are to be exhibited together and in the indicated sequence.
Curatorial Remarks:
The color and location of the signature on the verso of this sheet is not documented because this work is not in MoMA's collection and could not be examined in person.
Other Remarks:
According to the Louise Bourgeois Studio, the 12 fabric collages comprising the portfolio, "Dawn," are composed of various fabrics from Bourgeois's wardrobe. The sequence of the fabric collages within the portfolio was meant to convey the passage of time and the beginning of a new day.
