- This edition is unique in that the color of the paper and the hand additions vary slightly from impression to impression, and from panel to panel.
There is 1 known variant impression of the only state, outside the edition.
Outside the "Spring" edition, there is a diptych composition which combines this plate with the plate editioned as “The Underground Life of Fear.” The diptych was published as part of an illustrated book. In the illustrated book edition, each book includes 18 plates with hand additions.
