Changes from version 1: composition transferred to a new matrix, in aquatint.
Artist’s Remarks:
Inscribed on the verso of the source painting: "Pour / Hubbeltje-bubbeltje"
Curatorial Remarks:
The type of paper could not be documented because this impression is not in MoMA's Collection and could not be examined in person. The plate dimensions are from the impression of version 2 in MoMA’s Collection. The sheet dimensions were provided by the Louise Bourgeois Studio.
Other Remarks:
According to Felix Harlan of Harlan & Weaver, this composition was created using an experimental combination of printmaking techniques. First, the source painting was photographed and transferred to a silkscreen. Second, the image was silkscreened onto a copper plate using a sugar lift solution. Then the plate was processed as a traditional sugar lift aquatint.
