Art Teachers' Role in War Is Discussed; Told We Should Use 'Powerful Weapon'
Art teachers should not go into war factories to make a living or help win the war because they can make themselves indispensable in the wartime educational structure, Jay Deiss of the Graphics and Publications Information Service, United States Office of Education, told the Committee on Art in American Education and Society yesterday morning at the organization's first annual meeting at the Museum of Modern Art, 11 West Fifty-third Street.
