NEWLY OPENED EXHIBITIONS IN TOWN

THE Museum of Modern Art placed on view last week in one of the first-floor galleries four recent painting acquisitions. Most important of these is Roger de La Fresnaye's large 1913 "Conquest of the Air" (reproduced), acquired through the fund established some time ago by Mrs. Simon Guggenheim.
