Christmas shoppers who would like to have their gifts pre-selected by a board of experts should be particularly enthusiastic about "Design Show: Christmas 1949," which opens today at the Museum of Modern Art. This year's annual display of approved miscellaneous objects has been screened by the staffs of two museums.
