Brian Ashcraft is a senior contributing editor for the video game site Kotaku and a columnist at The Japan Times. His work has also appeared in Popular Science, The Guardian, and Metropolis magazine. Ashcraft was previously a contributing editor at Wired magazine.
He graduated from Cornell University with a BA in art history.
Ashcraft has authored three books: Arcade Mania! (Kodansha International), Japanese Schoolgirl Confidential (Tuttle), and Cosplay World (Prestel). He is currently writing a book on Japanese tattoos for Tuttle.
Originally from Texas, Ashcraft has called Japan home since 2001. He lives in Osaka with his wife and three sons.
