André Lepecki is Associate Professor, Department of Performance Studies, New York University, and Artistic Professor, Stockholm University of the Arts. He is author of Exhausting Dance: Performance and the Politics of Movement and editor of several anthologies, including Dance for the Whitechapel series Documents of Contemporary Art. In 2008, he cocurated and directed a “re-doing” of Allan Kaprow’s 18 Happenings in 6 Parts. Commissioned by Haus der Kunst, Munich, and presented at Performa 7, Happenings received the International Association of Art Critics Award for Best Performance.
