Pattern
Look at the floor, at the wall: At first, there is no doubt in our mind that we are looking at something recognizable, something tangible. Yet as we look more closely, we realize that the same abstract patch of color can interchangeably, simultaneously, stand for a light reflection, a wet spot, or a tile. The more we look at it, the more elusive and abstract the pattern becomes.
