Rain doesn’t stop a NYC crowd. When last Saturday morning arrived, the skies were grey and ominous, with occasional downpours through the next few hours that threatened to make Warm Up a very soggy affair.

Kids, animals, and pretty girls: amateur photography publications are full of them.

MoMA’s Century of the Child: Growing by Design, 1900–2000 exhibition includes objects from across the 20th century and from around the world. 

The Museum of Modern Art’s Department of Publications has launched its first two enhanced digital books for the iPad, Century of the Child: Growing by Design, 1900–2000 and MoMA Collection Highlights, both now available on Apple’s iBookstore.

These notes accompany the screenings of Alfred Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief on August 1, 2, and 3 in Theater 3.

By 1955, Alfred Hitchcock was enjoying a level of celebrity never attained before or since by a movie director, with the possible exception of Cecil B. De Mille when he was hosting Lux Radio Theatre.

Century of the Child: Growing by Design, 1900–2000 is an exploration and celebration of modern design for children in the 20th century, bringing together designers and artists from around the world.

We had an amazing day on Saturday. Those looking for a diverse and danceable selection of current New York sounds were well satisfied by the third Warm Up of the year. The beautiful weather and NY-centric lineup combined for an incredibly enthusiastic, record-breaking crowd day.

Since 2007, MoMA’s Community Partnership program has been working with nonprofit and community-based organizations throughout New York City to create new ways of accessing MoMA’s collection across a variety of educational frameworks. Or at least that’s the nice, compact way that we like to describe the program to others.

Recent visitors to The Museum of Modern Art may have found themselves wandering through the Painting and Sculpture Galleries unable to shake the sense that something is awry.
