NY Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1. All photos by Gretchen Scott
The NY Art Book Fair, which runs September 26–28 at MoMA PS1, is the world’s premier event for artists’ books, catalogues, and zines. We asked a few of this year’s 350-plus vendors for tips on tackling the overwhelming amount of merchandise, what’s on their personal shopping list, and more.

On October 12, the exhibition Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs—the largest presentation of this final chapter of Matisse’s work ever mounted—will open at MoMA. Much of the anticipation surrounding this show stems from the fact that this visually vibrant and conceptually radical body of work has not been seen on this scale in New York in over 50 years.

“The Moulin Rouge hired the most famous dancers to perform the quadrille naturaliste (cancan), which delighted spectators with its swish of petticoats and flashing flesh as legs flew high—knickers optional,” writes Sarah Suzuki, Associate Curator in the Department of Drawings and Prints, in The Paris of Toulouse-Lautrec: Prints and Posters from The Museum of Modern Art.

Celebrate the fall season with the newest designs from the MoMA Design Store! Each season, our team of buyers gathers objects from around the world which emulate “Good Design,” highlighting the latest in materials, production, and design concepts. Unlike other design destinations, all products in the MoMA Design Store undergo an extensive review process with the Museum’s curators. Plus, every purchase supports the Museum’s educational and curatorial programming. What’s not to love?
Take a closer look at some of the season’s latest designs, many of which the press are already praising:
Warm Up 2014 has officially ended. The last day was quite the finale—there was a thunderstorm, two special guests, and a packed courtyard that danced for hours. Our secret headliner was Skrillex, who played after surprise guest ILoveMakonnen, Evian Christ, Lone (live), Sophie, and Doss. The Principals returned as our set designers.
Each Warm Up had a unique lineup and energy that kept everyone staying until the very end, begging the DJs for just one more song. We had performers from all over the globe, with some local favorites thrown into the mix as well. Thanks to everyone who worked on Warm Up and helped make it such a wonderful success.
Check out the slideshow, and we’ll see you next year!

Angeliki Kounava, 12-month Intern, Department of Photography
It was around the end of April and I was still suffering from the cold of my first winter in New York, when I had the opportunity to choose a professional travel destination as a MoMA intern in the Department of Photography. And what better escape could there be than a photographic journey to California?
