"Her neon mouth with the blinkers-off smile / Nothing but an electric sign / You could say she has an individual style / She's part of a colorful time." Psychedelic rock pioneers Jefferson Airplane released the song "Plastic Fantastic Lover" in 1967, with lyrics that echo the colorful posters and light shows that accompanied their performances. The circular form of the poster references the rotating stage of the Kaleidoscope, a short-lived venue on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.
