In September 2015, Modern Matinees began celebrating the Department of Film’s 80th anniversary by focusing on early acquisitions spearheaded by founding curator Iris Barry, and it has since expanded to celebrate MoMA's film collection as a whole. Since our regular Modern Matinees screenings take place on weekday afternoons, we’d like to offer this “redux” presentation for audiences that have been unable to attend.
In April and May 2016 we present encore selections from our Six New York Independents program.
Organized by Anne Morra, Associate Curator, Department of Film.
