This is the first comprehensive U.S. retrospective of the work of Aleksandr Rodchenko (1891–1956), one of the leading Russian artists of the revolutionary period. A prominent theoretician and teacher in Constructivist circles, Rodchenko responded with great versatility to the challenge of creating a new art for the new society envisioned by the Bolshevik Revolution.
