“Any movie is new if you haven’t seen it before.” From the very beginning, one of Rialto’s hallmarks has been its fresh approach to marketing, with new posters (frequently collaborating with illustrator Keiko Kimura and designers Kathleen Gates and Lee Kaplan) and trailers targeted to modern audiences. Rialto’s approach to its trailers is simple: keep them short (no more than two minutes) and avoid the clichés of most modern movie trailers. This program showcases not just some of Rialto’s best trailers—edited by William Hohauser, Robert Warmflash, and others—but the breadth of its release history, from The Graduate to Godzilla. Introduced by Rialto founder and co-president Bruce Goldstein, who produced and wrote many of the company’s trailers.
