The first Thursday of every month the Museum is open until 9:00 p.m.

Start your weekend early—join us for First Thursdays, a special evening every month at the Museum when you can enjoy dinner and cocktails at our new Terrace Café, at Café 2, or at the Modern before—or after—setting out to explore the new MoMA.

Immerse yourself in our expanded galleries and opening season of exhibitions, from a celebration of Latin American art to 11 watershed installations by living artists over the past 20 years to explorations of artists Betye Saar and Pope.L. Step into the world of Rainforest V., conceived by electronic music pioneer David Tudor and realized by Composers Inside Electronics Inc., in the Kravis Studio, and experience multimedia installations including Haegue Yang’s Handles in the Marron Atrium.

Artists Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller will discuss their work The Killing Machine with Glenn Lowry, the David Rockefeller Director of The Museum of Modern Art, for the One Work series, in which artists join curators to discuss the stories behind a specific work of theirs on view in the galleries. Catch a film in the Black Family Film Center, or express yourself in the Crown Creativity Lab.
