Join us to celebrate the opening of our reimagined museum. Be among the first to experience new favorites sharing space with old friends in our expanded galleries, along with explorations of modern Latin American art and artists Betye Saar and Pope.L. Step into the world of Rainforest V (variation 1), conceived by electronic music pioneer David Tudor and realized by Composers Inside Electronics Inc., in the Kravis Studio, our new dedicated space for live art. Activations of multimedia installations will include Haegue Yang’s Handles in the Marron Atrium and Allora & Calzadilla’s Fault Lines in the exhibition Surrounds: 11 Installations.
In the Black Family Film Center, enjoy short films inspired by New York City and Movie Trailers All Day, a series of specially chosen trailers of both memorable and long-forgotten films.
Express yourself in the Crown Creativity Lab, or take part in drop-in drawing sessions in the galleries. Families can experiment with line, shape, and color in the Heyman Family Art Lab and see short films with the theme of creative thinking.
Admission is free for all MoMA visitors on Sunday, October 20, 2019. The line for tickets begins at the Museum’s 53rd Street entrance. Your ticket permits entry to all Museum galleries and exhibitions. Please refrain from bringing large bags, as all items larger than 11 × 15 × 5″ must be checked.
