Jazz is meant for dancing! Since graduating Juilliard, Mathis Picard has used his French-Malagasy roots to enrich his jazz-infused brand of dance music. Picard began improvising his own melodies on the piano at age three, and he has been creating music since, sharing the international stage with artists such as Patti Smith, Wynton Marsalis, Jason Moran, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and others. Mathis Sound Orchestra, a collection of top New York City musicians, lays down jazz-based dance music from all stages and for all ages. The group has performed at NuBlu, West End Lounge, Dizzy’s Club, Birdland, and Black Cat.

This performance is part of Member Day.
