After the death of her opera star aunt, Paula is sent to Italy to study and hopefully walk in her shoes. Paula falls in love with the suave Gregory Anton and they soon marry and move back to London, where increasingly weird things begin to happen. But when Paula complains to Gregory, he plants the seeds of her growing paranoia.
