The iconic objects in Items: Is Fashion Modern range from the white T-shirt to the little black dress - via , hoodies, and hijabs. What they all have in common is a deep embeddedness in larger social, political, economic, and cultural contexts both past and present. In this session, we will unpack a selection of "items" as examples of a richly layered material culture.

This session is led by Petra Pankow.
