The UN estimates that about 65 million people today are refugees, asylum seekers, or internally displaced persons. In this gallery session we will focus on some architectural and artistic responses to the idea of shelter, unveiling how the design and representation of temporary housing reflects the permanent sense of upheaval in the lives of refugees.

This session is led by Tamara Kostianovsky.
