Two old school chums enjoy disparaging the haute bourgeois milieu of the lower Rhine in which they were raised, but are too involved in its rituals—including baronial hunting parties—to ever break away from it. Will Birgel, a popular star of the Third Reich, personifies the old order as the dictatorial author of a hunting rule book.

This film accompanies Germany 66.
