Skilled workers at a metallurgical plant, Horst and Olaf confront the hostility of older colleagues who value experience over education. Klein’s film was banned for “portraying generational conflict as insurmountable, exaggerating problems in manufacturing, and showing socialist reality as unfriendly and dreary.”

This film accompanies Germany 66.
