Screenplay by Tashlin, Harry Tugend. With Jerry Lewis, Jill St. John, Ray Walston, Agnes Moorehead. A graduate of the Warner Bros. cartoon unit, director Tashlin made perhaps his most toon-like feature with this spirited gagfest, featuring Lewis as a put-upon employee in a department store owned by Agnes Moorehead—a vision of malign matriarchy that, with a dream logic Freud would have approved, culminates with the spectacle of a runaway vacuum cleaner.
